A small, dated record of the tools with confirmed roles in the workflow. Maintained by Anywhere Work Lab Editorial.
Current use is not an automatic recommendation for everyone. This page separates what is confirmed now from previous first-hand use. It is not a complete subscription inventory or a product ranking.
Current: ChatGPT
Role: The primary AI environment for the current period.
What I use it for: Writing, brainstorming, organizing research, and thinking through decisions, as described in the publication’s first-hand accounts. The purpose is to shape material and make choices easier to assess.
Why it remains in the workflow: It has a clear role in the language and decision work already being done. That is more useful than adding a separate tool for every variation of the task.
What it does not replace: Opening original sources, maintaining project records, deciding what to publish, or reviewing consequential actions.
Friction and limits: Context still needs to be supplied, output checked, and corrections made. Include that effort when assessing value. This record does not establish a specific plan, model, daily frequency, or every available feature.
Last checked: 7 October 2026 — current status confirmed by the operator. This is a status check, not a new comparative product test.
For the decision framework behind keeping a tool, read AI Tools for Solopreneurs: What I Use Now and What I’ve Used. For the verification boundary, see the worked AI research example.
Previously used first-hand: Claude Code
What it was used for: Local files, commands/scripts, and website or workflow-related work in a local terminal/PowerShell environment. Browser-related steps used associated automation and tooling around that setup.
Why it is separate: Previous first-hand use is confirmed; current use and subscription status are not. This is not a claim that it was canceled or that a particular problem caused a switch.
What the experience illustrates: The surrounding interface, files, permissions, and tooling matter alongside the model. A technical execution workflow still needs clear instructions and review. Read the first-hand ChatGPT and Claude Code workflow comparison for that context.
How this record stays bounded
Only explicit current-use confirmation qualifies a product for the Current section. Appearing in an older review is not enough. The date identifies the status confirmed for this version; no automatic monitoring or guaranteed review schedule is implied.
For comparisons across Business Systems, Practical AI, and Across Borders, use Reviews & Tools. It includes decisions where an existing tool, a simpler workflow, or no purchase may be sufficient.
